Where the Makintosh probing alone cannot give sufficient information to clarify a mining problem, or should a higher level of confidence be required as to the ground conditions beneath a dwelling itself, vertical and inclined drill holes using a down the hole air-flush type mini-rig can be undertaken in conjunction with Makintosh probing and hand excavated trial pitting, in order to ascertain the presence, or otherwise, of any significant untoward mining features around the immediate area of the dwelling, and to clarify the foundation depth and founding horizon of the dwelling. Estimates are given in writing. |
